I noticed a poster advertising this when we were there on Sunday."On 22nd and 23rd May, re-enactors from The Earl of Manchester's Regiment of Foote will uncover the Civil War history of this stunning Tudor-Jacobean country house. Each day begins at 10am when an authentic encampment opens - come and meet the soldiers who fought, the families they left behind and find out about the way they lived.Kids can enjoy the FREE activities while parents get to appreciate this captivating venue and delve into Leeds' hidden past. The fantastic amphitheatre will host demonstrations of 17th Century military ordnance throughout the day - discover the devastating power of the matchlock musket and the fearsome steel-tipped pike while the drums beat orders across the field of battle.Walk around the house and meet the people of the 17th Century brought to life, before watching a live battle re-enactment with sword and musket on the East Lawn.Come visit us and help bring history to life at Temple Newsam!"

And here is the page ad on Leeds City Council sitehttp://www.leedsliveitloveit.com/visitors/what ... ewsamThere are also a list of all events here, some look quite interesting. I quite fancy the Bat Walk myself.http://www.leeds.gov.uk/Do_It_Online/Fi ... guide.aspx
Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?
