Good news about the Highland - a real hidden gem that should be a Leeds institution.As you will see from the attached picture work is going on to refurbish and reopen it. I understand this should happen sometime in June.Better still - its staying as a traditional pub (no silly name changes or the like) - and will have real cask ale.Nice to have a bit of good news about a pub in Leeds for a change!

not an area I frequent - but - any newsabout keeping the old fashioned boozer(Me ?)goingis to applauded and if you can - supported.

I don't like the 'Student Local' bit. I know it is now surrounded by student accomodation but couldn't they all go to one pub? The Fav?

I reckon if it weren't for the steradent population in Leeds then a damn sight more pubs would be closed round Headingley Hyde Park and Leeds.
