Likewise Chris, was 'got' last summer and spent several hours laid out in agony with pain searing through my abdomen. Any winged stinging insect I perceive to be threatening me now - is deleted!

Anyone remember the invasion of Ladybirds we had in the Summer of 1976.I remember been in Blackpool on hols, the streets were literally covered in them like a carpet. People (especially women and kids) were trying to tip toe through them. In the end you just had to walk on them all.
My flickr pictures are herehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn/Because lunacy was the influence for an album. It goes without saying that an album about lunacy will breed a lunatics obsessions with an album - The Dark side of the moon!

We were at the seaside too (can't think where), and there was a bright red stripe made of drowned ladybirds along the beach where the tide had been. There was an invasion of flying ants in the early 70s. Coincidentally, I was in Blackpool for this freak of nature.

But everything seemed to happen, it seemed so much more fun. Ladybird invasions. The Roundhay Lido, Star Wars at the cinema. Even the standpipes in the streets seemed fun. The coalman still came, Rag and bone men, The wagon with the ride on the back came round. Of course Jim'll fix it lol, Slush Puppies. When the barage balloon went up at Roundhay you knew it was fun time! The Generation game. Starsky and Hutch. Saturdays have never been the same again I'll not detract from the Bumble bee theme anymore. I just had to reminisce a bit, because i'm fed up with this dull modern era we have now lol

To our parents those years were full of strikes, shortages and general decline but to us who grew up in the 70's they were the golden years.Regards.

I left school (very strict) and went to art college - art lessons all day (including life-class, phowarrr!), lots of like-minded girls, parties every weekend, you could smoke in college, and go to the pub for lunch. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven!!!PS For the record, I don't like wasps either.

We all tend to say the same about our life in what ever time we were bought up in.In twenty or so years the kids of today will say the same things we say about the past. What comes around goes around.
No matter were i end my days im an Hunslet lad with Hunslet ways.
