These old gateposts are now very exposed by the recent de-forestation on Kirkstall Road.I wonder how long before they bite the dust?

I have to admit that when i first saw kirkstall road after the felling, i thought for a minute i'd phased out and taken a wrong turn on my way to work O_oit sure looks different.

Does anyone know what the set of twin gateposts shown in Stevief's picture above were associated with? A quick look at an old map shows a 'Brookfield House' being near this area. Has anybody heard of this house or know anything about it? If these are its gateposts then I'm guessing it might have been quite grand. Beecroft Primary school is now on the site I think.
