I even went through the bloody thread and missed that one. On the "mutual" building you can actually see part of the word Tobacco, very faint though. Can you imagine the shock / Horror if you were to advertise "baccy" nowadays.. The building Arry looks part of offices and from the angle I could see, looked as though they had seen some pretty good redevelopment! May be wrong though!

I posted that Basher was only here for the bier but deleted it. I couldn't have you all splitting your sides could I? Think of the mess.

Ace pic from Arry - an old pub, a brilliant Tetleys's mural and some funky graffitti! Nice one dad! Following words from Arry, as per usual! It's a Tetley's pub sign above the Vicar Lane/New Market St. bus stands at the corner of Kirkgate/Crown St.There's a bonus view also, of the large mural showing on the gable end behind it. Can't remember the pub namejust now . The entrance is at the top of Kirkgate, but was covered over with refurb. scaffold and netting.Looked thru the fone book yest. and I thinkthe pub's name is 'The Regent' They change hands and names so often these days and it was covered in scaffolding and safety netting.so couldn't see from the other side of Vicar lane/Newmarket St! Heavy traficGREAT pic, our Dad!

Yeah ScandyladIt didn't come out too bad. Just hoped someone else hadn't posted it first! I believe the pub is called 'The Regent' by the way,at the top of Kirkgate opposite the top Market entrance.I see that 'CAFE',(previously posted),is in the background of the picon Crown St.JanCee, you should have sent that one liner in,split sides or no!I thought it very appropriate AND funny too!I'm sure Basher is only having you on ,saying he doesn't understand what 'Bier' has to do with his occupation!Dare I say,"You wooden' Cask-it"?
