Has anyone else been watching these programmes with more interest in the locations in and around Leeds, than the actual drama on screen? To be fair, I thought Five Days was fairly good and featured Leeds quite a bit with locations around West Yorkshire and Scarborough, whereas MSO seems to be filmed entirely within Leeds.Al in all, much better than the dire 'Monday, Monday' which was set in Leeds, but filmed almost entirely down south with montages of Leeds City Centre added in between scenes.

Very very blurred background but actually recognised Park Square just now!

I've spotted quite a few places in MSO. Clint's house is in Hannover Square, apparently, with Park Lane college fairly visible at the end.As for the rest of it, you have to pay fairly close attention. I'm fairly sure Clint was driving past the Crown Point retail park last week, and I've just spotted Sky Plaza student accoms behind Lily. Looks like Clarence Dock will be on next week too (most activity it's ever had, I would have thought...).I did watch the first episode of Five Days too, but all I've spotted is a likely looking University of Leeds building masked up as a hospital.

I thought I spotted one of the Civic Hall owls in the hospital opening scene in Five Days. I noticed the fateful train had "Leeds" on it's destination board. The Corn Exchange with the Markets in the background appeared in MSO last night, as did a discreet Leeds skyline (Town Hall and Dalek out of shot, but Uni tower visible.)

The Burmantofts / Lincoln Green areas have popped up in both.In Mondays MSO, Allerton High School was featured along with what looked to be the playing fields off Torre Road (the chimney at the undertakers on Lupton Avenue with all the phone aerials on it was clearly visible in the background). And I think the steps they were running up and down in MSO were the ones in Roundhay Park at the side of Hill 60.

I've just been watching a bit of the Beiderbecke Affair/Connection when I went round to wish my mam a Happy Birthday this morning. There were a couple of scenes of the old Foxwood School at Seacroft and St. Mark's Church, Woodhouse. The 'prefabs' were clearly visible in the background. My mother seemed to think it was St. Matthews on Burley Road. It makes sense. The YTV studios was less than a half mile away. The scene in Five days - with the owls and the Leeds Civic Hall in shot - looked like it was filmed outside the new Leeds Met buildings. Still can't beat the filming of Follyfoot Farm on the steps leading down to North West Road and Woodhouse Street in the early Seventies. I had not realised how much faffing about went into filming a 30-second scene. The crew were there two days.Happy 75th MamLove Davexx
