I remember both but the details of neither. I think Grroococks was the one nearest the Skyrack, you could buy soap by the block cut by a chees wire. THe veg and game dealers was the Oxfam record shop. They had game hanging outisde well in to the 80s. Hard to imagine now, no cellophane?
I know it's not that long ago, but we (a friend & I) used to like the deli/sandwich shop on possibly Bennet Road, or Grunberg Road (but that's from a poor memory, & looking at 'Multi-Map')We used to go there when we were visiting 'Stif' (montain bike shop) when it was in its original location on Granby Street
The game, vegetable and fish shop on the Otley Road which displayed game outside was Barretts. They occupied shops on both sides of the road at different times, between the North Lane junction and Bennett Road. I shall try to get the numbers for the two shops.
