Kit's Island

Has anyone ever heard of kit's island?Apparantly someone called kit found a hidden island in leeds somewhere, but died in the process of getting back to mainland.Hence the name kit's island.A couple of people have told me about it but I know nothing solid.

If this Kit found a hidden island, but died before returning, how do we know he found it??? It makes the Aire sound like the Amazon!
