I'll regret the passing of Tetley's, of course it's a shame and another piece of Leeds' heritage down the drain, but it's not the end of the world. There are other breweries that have sprouted and flourished whilst Carlsberg promoted their Euro gnat's wee to the detriment of local brands.I'm very sure that Leeds Brewery, Taylor's and even such exotic brews (to Leeds taste buds) such as Black Sheep and Theakstons will step into the gap.How about Leeds Brewery making "Joshua's Ghost" - a new bitter meant to be a good reproduction of what Tetley's was in its prime?
I like work. I can watch it for hours.

Many years ago, and I take no pleasure in saying this, when Carlsberg took over Tetley's I predicted that it would end in tears - despite all the fancy promises that Carlsberg made at that time. All you need to know about Carlsberg can be epitomised by their continuing production of 'Special Brew' - a product that brings profit to the company out of human misery, often from the proceeds of crime or begging. They are little better than drug- dealers and, presumably, have the conscience and morals of the same.
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

The only pub round here that serves it (to my knowledge) is the Bay Horse in Otley. Shame, as it was my drink of choice as a youth, and brings back many happy memories. Although Tetley's hasn't been up to the standards of thirty years ago, it really will be a shadow of it's former self when brewed in the Midlands, and on that basis (as opposed to a boycott) I won't be touching the stuff ever again.Mine's a Landlord/Rigwelter/Midnight Bell, please! Cheers!

First time I had it was in The Crown at Middlesmoor, 10 miles on from Pateley Bridge. We were camping at a little site (Stud Fold Farm) just at the bottom of the hill. I think I had about 6 pints and a couple of pints of Cider, we were singing all the way back to the site. he he

Tetley's Cask are currently sponsoring a TV series onITV 4 - "Real mens TV" - The Sweeney tonight !.They are using the Huntsman logo for this.I thought they ditched that years ago because of theanti fox hunting brigade.
