It doesn't appear to have been connected with any proposed congestion charge. Truth is stranger than fiction What parking congestion other than the occasional early running bus parking up at the bus stops could that camera have picked out. Other than buses I have very rarely seen vehicles parked up for even the purpose of dropping off/picking up in that vicinity. Indeed the very rare police enforcement of the bus box occurs more often.

I similarly wonder Steve. The truth or the whole nothing?

I first saw it on Monday although it could have been there since latee last week but it has gone now. They don't stick around long particularly once they are "outed" on here. There is plenty of congestion there but ut doesn't take a genius or a video recording to work out why. St Peters Street, the A61 northbound, obviously takes much of the priority on the traffic signal with its junction to Dyer Street. Given that Dyer Street is the only legitimate exit for most traffic on the Union Street car park, the Police station plus some of the open market traders not to mention the bus station and its green light coincides with a red light on the entrance to the eastgate roundabout it is always going to be busy when the markets are open.

Just to stick my oar into this thread lol....I was recently driving up the Headrow, where ordinary traffic is allowed to pass I hasten to add!Opposite Primark, on the actually traffic island separator next to a planter, I noticed a large grey box with a yellow sticker on. Attached were two cameras on not very sturdy looking posts. I'm pretty sure the label read something like "CCTV Project" so could be a trial thing.Just a quick observation! And, speaking of cameras, has anybody else noticed the massive influx in actualy Yellow Gatso speed cameras right next to traffic lights? It's clearly a revenue spinner to me, because they know people will stray over the maximum mark to beat the lights occasionally (Though I do not condone this!!)
