They're just huge barns with several sealed compartments for showing films. I own up to once being banned from our local cinema (I was chatting up a girl) It took me about 6 months before they'd let me in again. But the point is there was someone there to put a stop to my being naughty, and that someone who recognised me the next time I tried to get in. At Showcase I bet the same kids'd be there the following day and no one would notice.    Very true, Trojan. But at least you didn't take a pigeon in! What gets me, is that in both my case, and the Jordan Horsley case, the victim of anti-social behaviour is the person in the wrong. We got a telling-off, but the unfortunate woman got attacked with bleach.

At 16, he's a career anti-social yob, and we're supposed to believe that he didn't know bleach was dangerous? Give over. If he just wanted to "embarrass" his victim, why didn't he just use water? Causing bother in cinemas seems to be on the increase. It's happened to us, when a large group of female yoofs were intent on spoiling the film for everyone else, by shouting, making loud phone calls, and running up and down the aisles. There wasn't a member of staff (who incidentally all looked about 18 ) in the auditorium, so several of us went to tell them to shut it. Just made it worse. Eventually, an off-duty police officer had a word, and they all burst into tears, and thankfully left. On leaving the cinema, we were all told in the foyer by the staff, that we had ruined the film for them. That was the last time I'll go out to see a film.     Sadly, I've shared a very similar turn of events and it has stopped me going to the cinema, particularly at what would be classed as "peak times".The problem, to me, is that these places are run on an absolute minimum of staff, often with only 2-3 staff visible to customers (and then in the shop) and often they are young, inexperienced and clearly not capable of dealing with even low level anti-social behaviour. As a consequence I'm not prepared to fork out £15 of my hard earned for me and mrs ravey to go try and watch a film while a bunch of ill behaved brats talk loudly, mess about and continually text each other. The Vue Cinema and surrounding complex on Kirkstall Road had got a poor reputation for groups of youths causing bother and making a nuisance of themselves and I wouldn't be at all surprised if people weren't stopping away for that reason. I know we have. However, it seems the management there are more concerned with enforcing parking restrictions than dealing with more pressing issues.

Cottage Road - you can buy your ticket and then go to the New Inn over the road for a pint or two.

How many women did Shipman kill? No one really knows. His victims for the most part were elderly women and he was a doctor. The soul of integrity. No questions were asked, or if they were those who asked them were very soon silenced. There's no closed shop like the doctor's shop. But then how was he caught? He was caught because he tried to forge a rich victim's will. Hundreds die and no one's really interested enough to investigate, but a fraudulent will? They came down on him like a ton of bricks.

Love going to the cinema and idiots will not stop me. However, i did have a rather unfortunate run in by the back of the vue (kirkstall Rd) when I went to see a film with my lad a year or so agoWe walked there, only took about 15 min to walk, but the route took us round the back, through some streets (no residential, only industrial) and up some steps onto canal Rd. Walk to the cinema, no issues, but half way through the streets on the way back a small gang of around 5 asian youths stop us in our tracks and demand money etc.... I told them to go home their mums must be worried as it's past their bedtime, but my lad is getting quite scared. I pushed him behind me and walked towards the "leader" of the so called gang. He's backing off from me faster than I can walk towards him. He then stops and pulls this stupid karate type stance. I stop and look the guy to my left in the eye and quietly inform him that he is going to be in the intensive care ward with me. (having done martial arts for many years, and still do, I started to find the whole situation less threatening as the seconds wore on). The guy I spoke to looked well shocked and began stammering why???I just explained that the rest will probably take me down, but he was going to be MY target!! He then started to look very scared and eventually talked the others into stopping. They all, but one, ran off. The one who actually confronted me stood firm for a few seconds then when he realised i really had passed the point of calm and really was going to hurt him. He eventually ran off claiming he would be looking for me in the future. My lad, only 11 at the time was physically shaking. However, he said to me that although he was scared he didn't feel that threatend when he saw me move forrad and as soon as I said to the big guy the things I did he actually felt very safe, he could see they were actually scared at that point. these kids really do need policing and the whole area sorted out. If a gang see, what they think are a weaker grouping then the whole "lord of the flies" scenario will take over. Needles to say, I don't actually walk down there anymore. Best not tempt fate.
