Thank you sir, yes that's right, so apologies to Kathy Kirby and friends. I believe from local rumour, and you heard LOTS of that on the Low Ackworth/Brackenhill bus, that Ms Squires was by then living in "reduced" circumstances and more or less a recluse.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Hi. I was sorry to hear of Kathy Kirby's death recently.I can remember her hits, and also the theme tune to the BBC1 TV series "Adam Adamant lives" (starring Gerald Harper) in 1966. It is odd that this great track does not appear on her compilation cds, or does anyone know if it is on other compilation discs ?There was a great echo on the discs that she made (similar to that of Joe Meek's sound productions). Joe did not actually produce her work, but I was told that Charles Blackwell did. I wonder if it was the same guy that had an orchestra that backed some of Joe Meek's artistes earlier? It is a shame that she did not get the success that she deserved!I used to own a copy of her first single "Big Man", but it did not chart.
