They brew it upstairs i believe, not tried it,but i suppose they have to think that real ale drinkers may have mates who are lager drinkers,if they buy their own lager rather than the ones they have on tap then they should make a bigger profit.ill drink a quality lager too,Budvar is my favourite. You know when youve had that!! You're a man after my own heart Chris!! I love real ale and invariably drink that in the pub - but there are some great lagers available(German/Belgian/ Czech basically.). I love Budvar, but sometimes I'm tempted to think that Pilsner Urquell is even slightly better!! Duvel is fantastic too(not a lager, I know).
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

Duvel's a bit strong. Beer Ritz have an excellent range of Belgian beers - but obviously for drinking at home. Best range of Belgian I've seen in a pub is at the West Riding Refreshment Rooms in Dewsbury or the Brewers Pride in Ossett. The Palace doesn't seem that well stocked with the Belgian stuff. Beer Ritz is the only off licence I know that stocks an extensive range of Sam Smiths beers. They have something called "Yorkshire Stingo" I think it's 8% - and it's (was) a fiver a bottle. I've just had an excellent pint of Copper Dragon Scotts in the Cellar Bar opposite Batley Station. My son did the Ale Trail - Stalybridge, Marsden, Head of Steam, WEst Riding and Cellar Bar.

Well Chris, I've swung pretty much every which way over the years, but I draw the line at going to bed with my mother!!! lol Lots of love,Han.
