If you can post a map pointing this place out I'll take one, it's close to my house. This is on the site of Stoggy's/Caspers/West Ward Liberal Club...

Just wanted to say a quick hello and mostly a thankyou to the contributors to this great thread. Having just moved to Leeds my girlfriend and I are attempting to have a drink in every pub and bar (loosely defined) in Leeds (even more loosely defined in order for us to wangle it and claim success) this year, however we have sadly oft encountered that when we arrive at a place it is shut.Investigating all of these led me to this thread and I've just spent a fascinating few hours reading this and looking at the picturesWhile it may have made our task easier I do wish I could have been in more of the ones that have proved to have been boarded up .... especiallly when we were relying on that one to go to the loo.As you can imagine we've got a good few pictures of closed pubs ourselves, though unfortunately taken with a low quality digital camera (often at night, often when having had a skinful), and I lack the photographers eye many of you clearly have. If there are any I can find of pubs not already on here, and which are not unacceptably blurred I'll try and stick them up over the next couple of days, though this huge thread seems fairly comrpehensive so there may only be one or two.Anyway back to the point: thanks for all the pictures and to the histories of various of the pubs, it's a really interesting read.

Not boarded up but there doesn't seem much sign of life at the Rising Sun on Kirkstall Rd. hopefully only temporary. In a perverse twist of logic most of the windows of the Brown Hare on Harehills Lane are boarded up - but its still open!!
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.
