I've scanned it but I can't find where it's gone on the computer. I've tried my pictures, etc, and the printer's software - nowhere to be seen! Shall I put the map in the post? PS. Stutterdog - have you had a look on Leodis? I've had a quick decko, but all I can find is the York Road/Burmantofts Street junction area (Woodpecker, etc.) However, there is a 1963 aerial shot showing the area, but by then it's all changed - Ebor Gardens, etc. Thanks Brandy. But I think it was knocked down years before '63.

It was a very short street with 5 buildings on the north side, and 7 on the south. It was a dead-end to the east, cut off by Upper Vetch Street. Barker's Row ran parallel to the north, and Waterloo Place and Pea Street ran perpendicular to the south.

Is that what it is?!Stutterdog - if you look at the recent posts in the Oldest Block of Flats thread, there's a 1951ish aerial shot of Quarry Hill which shows the street outline (after demolition) of Barker's Buildings. It's in the bottom right corner of the area marked "York Road Development."

Thanks for your reply cnosni re. migration or workforce. Fascinating about Hull. One always imagines Hull to have been at the forefront of the deep sea fishing industry from time immemorial. Truly astonishing.

Hi all, I’m after some advice regarding the Godfrey Maps mentioned here.I‘ve looked on the Alan Godfrey website and they have the maps that I want. Only thing that stops me buying them is that they don’t give any indication of scale. Having just purchased some maps from Cassini that turned out to be rubbish, I’m a bit loathed to make the same mistake twice. I really need them to be of the sort of scale of the modern AtoZ type street map [or as near as damn it] as opposed to the amorphous black blobs that seem to represent areas. I would like it to show individual streets, not just the major roads. Ate any of the Godfrey maps like this?
