I know this makes me seem like a bit of a nerd, but I can't help it I have a good memory for useless information, in the days when Drigh had its own exchange, I worked at a Morley company called B.D.C. (Morley) Ltd among other things they were electricians and had a shop in Drigh. The number which I remember to this day was Drighlington 453, the code for Drigh once we got STD was 9830. The code for Leeds was 9. The code for the Ossett exchange was 9960. Most codes began with "9" presumably because you had to access the Leeds exchange first. Although I think originally Morley's STD code was 09736 whereas Leeds was 0532.
