hiApologies if this has already been discussed as I am totally new to this forum, however, curiousity has got the better of meI noticed at the weekend a tiled picture on the corner of the building which is on the corner of bond street and basinghall street directly opposite Tescos. It has the words Wedgewood, Worcester, Minton and Doulton on it (very decorative). Does anyone know what the building used to be - I am assuming it has been discovered whilst they were cleaning up the buildingThanks for any help you can giveLivi

Never noticed this myself but will look next time in Town - it sounds as if its been a shop selling high quality china perhaps.

see the Signs of lost leodis thread. If someone can get a picture that would be great. The sign has just been uncovered by some workmen that were doing it up. Not sure why it was there but I might have aclose look at lunch time!

What an absolutely beautiful thing to discover, and I do hope that it is saved intact - it would be a crime to damage or destroy it. Having seen this picture I'm even more sure that the premises must have been a high class china shop at the time the panel was designed/installed. I may be in town in the next day or so and I can't wait to see it.

Thanks for all your responses. I am certain it wasn't there a couple of weeks ago and the building has been newly painted so I think we have some helpful builders who have obviously seen the beauty in thisI have looked for the buiding on leodis and in the 1930s it was Bootshttp://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?resourceIde ... 143618Link to the picture - the panel is there but the picture isn'tCuriouser and curiouser
