Cardiarms wrote: Lights out You can just see the phone where the property developers were making a last ditch call for funds to RBS.This is yet another piece of bad news for the city.Im sure things will come back, but this is one hell of a huge hole in the city centre, along with the still undeveloped Eastgate Quarter,Whitehall Riverside/Wellington Place/Lumiere/Criterion Place etc etc et cetc. This cant bode well for Holbeck village and the Arena,as both these projects are reliant on private as well as public funding.Easel has gone T*ts up (so much for Private Parrtnership),the childrens hospital is not even a pipe dream anymore.Id say we are now well below even middle of the road.

It just gets worse! Now the refurbishment work on the Gateway Project at the Dark Arches / Neville Street is stopped as the man contractor has gone into adminsitration...http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... jpAlthough to be perfectly honest, I'm struggling to see how adding new lights and a bit of paint on the walls added up to £4.5 million....
