Gravelythorpe (still there really), once a picturesque valley south of the railway line behind Seacroft hospital, home to a small farm and 'tea rooms' which also sold ale, supporting the colliers from the pits and bell pits at the western end adjacent to the small quarry,Fell foul of it's own value as a hole in the ground which became a massive Council landfill site, a disgrace in any language. Now reclaimed and restored, what ever that means, as an artificial green space and part of an urban trail.
