And did he really mean from IN the dtation do you think, or just the station area?Notice today outside Wilko's new store doorway, large chamber with six lid sections within the nearness of the escalator to (now) nowhere. No 'distinguishing marks' on it either, not unique but not the norm. The only other ones I've seen this big have been underground substations. Any more thoughts here Phill if you're around?

There are only 10 types of people in the world -those who understand binary, and those that don't.

I cant find the exact thread for the one where we were talking about the old milgarth station and where the Union Street baths were etc etc.I have found an old aerial view showing the old station behind the new, which should go some way to showing how it fits in with the current remaing walls that form the carpark to the new station. Eastgate to the right, and market to the left... You can see the top of the old station peeking out, and another building between Milgarth and the old weights and measures building.

My flickr pictures are herehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn/Because lunacy was the influence for an album. It goes without saying that an album about lunacy will breed a lunatics obsessions with an album - The Dark side of the moon!

We'll just have to get out the lifting keys and have a day looking down every chamber we can find then won't we

Not so sure about that Simon, the two sections of what look like walkway on the front and side of the bank of england building are the same style and profile of the old foot bridge/walkway that came out of the Bond St centre and into infirmary St.When was the B of E building built and could it be possible it was intended to extend this "skywalk" this far so these sections were included in the building, perhaps the intended plans never got this far so it was left with two un-used walkways.

I'm sure the answer there is, yes - certainly for the intention. I feel as though you could access it but I don't remember that they actually joined it up to the other side of the road.

Evening all.Love the forums, I've been skulking around for ages but as a rather junior Loiner havent had much to contribute.I work in Millgarth and was fascinated to find out the beck runs right underneath it, unbelieveable. I didn't realise that the Helpdesk used to be on the 2nd floor. I know an officer who started there when it first opened. I'll ask him and poke my head out of whichever window is where the original entrance was to have a look.
