Hi Stodge.. there's been snippets about it posted on this site somewhere. Do we have the site search thingy going yet to trace this stuff again?

Isn't it on page 3 of this thread? The whole Secret Leeds Secret Search thing is an interesting question... I wish I knew the answer!

Whislt ive been working and the bottle banks have been moved ive noticed in the tescos car park that there looks like a long old stone panel just above the grass and below the wall and to the left of this some, what look to be new'ish brick steps built, i know what in the homebase carpark next to this (through the bushes) a sewer or water way goes through as you can sometimes hear the water flowing underneath, also ive noticed that in the homebase carpark near here the carpark dips down, could this be because of earth collapsing into the sewer or into any bunker or something here?the stone panel and steps im on about are as your in tescos car park facing the bottle and recycling banks to the left of these behind the sub station (or what ever it is) i have marked it on the photo phil_d put up earlier

I am the proud owner of the disused ROC Bunker at Barwick-In-Elmet. If anyone wants me to unlock it and come and view inside then please contact me and I'll be happy to arrange this.

Yep thats the one. Let me know when you want to see it and I'll meet you up there. The land strip gets quite muddy when farmed and the bunker itself is dusty - so don't wear you best clothes (but you know that anyway) judging from your fantastic photo sets. It's light for another hour tonight if you are really keen. Otherwise it will have to be later in the week or the weekend.Anytime that suits really.

Hello Motley,I've been looking for locations for a no budget film I'm making. I had arranged to use the ROC command bunker at York, but found it to be a bit too pristine for my purposes.I really only need one shot, of a couple of people in a shaft, climbing down a ladder. I was thinking of using a ROC bunker (see url) in the Dales. They guy is very helpful.http://12121.hostinguk.com/bunkerloc.htmHowever, your location is a lot more convenient. I assume your bunker has the same shaft with a ladder. If you're interested in letting us film at your bunker, I would happily pay for your time. Though admittedly this wouldn't be much.Let me know.Steven

I'd be thrilled for you to film at my post. I'm not in it for the money. The hatch and ladder are identical on almost all ROC posts. Mine looks identical to the one you've linked. The Barwick bunker is most definately not pristine. It is exactly as it was left in 1991 when the post closed. The actual bunker is only about 12ft x 7ft inside so pretty cosy to try and swing any sort of a cat. I don't know how to post private messages on these forums but contact me and we'll sort something out.

Hi Motley, as a local member of Subbrit I'd be very interested in taking up your kind offer, sounds like it might be getting a bit crowded though! I've seen the pics from the visits in 2000 and 2003 and it looks in fine condition. If you enjoy your bunker then you might like a peek at some other things in underground Leeds.
