there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

This was a pub/bar in the late 80's early 90's. I remember it as the 'harlequin Bar' - but it was one of those places that might have had other names at times.

'The Harlequin' I remember it well as a last port of call.Back then the Kirkstall Rd. buses(25 & 26?) used to run along Boar Lane and stop outside the Queens Hotel. It was a tidy place with a wide, sweeping staircase leading down to the bar.I'm gonna check out the Rising Sun this week drapesy.I've definately seen a Melbourne sign somewhere,I think it's in the snug.

Here's one I found in the link Raveydavey posted in 'Trams',http://www.tramway.co.uk/smx/photos/pho ... 6892Behind the Tram is the old Melbourne Public House which was demolished to make way for Halfords and Burger King at the juction of Foundry Lane with York Road at Seacroft. This was a very large building, typical of its era complete with (I think) a bowling green to the side nearest the Fish and Chip shop. Its amazing how many of the Trams in the photos from that link also seem to be advertising Melbourne Ales!

Not very promising - but the doorway on the left used to lead into the Ostlers. I think the boarded up shop was HMV at one stage.

Was this Chaplins? or the wayfinder? or maybe both at different times. I've had more than one pint in here but cant remember - I always get it confused with the other pub on the opposite corner of the Merrion centre - which is still open.Signs on the window say the pub was in the 'good beer guide' in 1996, 97 and 98.Is it just me but this doesn't look like a real building at all - more like some overblown lego-type construction?!?!
