Good news from Otley.The Red Lion is set to re-open tonight (12th)However,I noticed the Three Horse Shoes was closed but carpet fitters were working inside.Perhaps Si can enlighten us...

bramley working mens club (elder road) also had a bowling green...closed it and built a car park long while ago.they have just sold the same car park to developers for flats. for £400 thousand.

Some good news!!Mrs cnosni staggered through the door this evening (only had a "couple" after work ) and told me that whilst she was in the Brewery Tap tonight she was told by the manager that the Prince of Wales will reopen on Monday.New owners (from the south i believe),not sure who the owners actually are and what they will be selling but tihs can be confirmed by the activity i have been witnessing at the Prince for the last week.my suspisions were that it ws going to be a wine bar,but it looks like its going to be a pub.Lets wait and see,perhaps ill get more details tomorrow when the"Midnight Belle" has worn off.

It certainly did not service the football club. Have you got the 1984 map? Ads, I have it on good authority the Bowling Green Hotel was demolished around 1964. This is from someone who used to attend functions there in the early 60's.

Hi Stevie,Forgot to look at the Red Lion on Friday night (Victorian Fayre night) but I noticed a removal van outside the Shoes on Wednesday evening. They looked to me to be putting stuff into the pub. Could be wrong. However, the Three Horseshoes is my least liked pub in Otley, so I don't go in much. I went in about two years ago, and the front room seemed to be full of under-age chavvy girls with push-chairs drinking alcopops and smoking for Britain!
