I remembr him speaking to me once shortly after I came home from the Falklands. As you can imagine I was feeling rather sh**y and sat in Park place close to tears and generally not liking life pretty much.He sat next to me and just stared at me smiling. As I stood to walk away he asked why I was so upset. I still tried to walk away but he persisted. I told him and all he said was"but your still here aren't you?" and walked off. He took my mind off my sorrow for a brief moment and I actually smiled that this "nutter" had just sat next to me. Now, whenever I see him, I always stop and shake his hand.

I've just seen the Monk walking along Leeds Road in Idle, Bradford. I see him several times a year in the north Bradford area where I live. I once saw him getting off the train from Ilkley at Baildon and wonder if he lives somewhere around Ilkley.

There are only 10 types of people in the world -those who understand binary, and those that don't.

A second thread moved here.    Poster Message TykeUser Location: Hunslet,LeedsJoined on: 17-Nov-2011 15:25:24Posted: 62 posts # Posted on: 29-Apr-2012 20:21:50.    Edit | Quote I don’t know if anyone remembers the Peter (Geoffrey Brindley) the walking monk who used to be seen treading the street round and about North West Leeds and Bradford but it's been reported on a web site that he has unfortunately died. Peter the Bradford Jesus man allways had a smile on his face and when I saw him and he would allways acknowledge our waves as we passed and that’s the way I will remember him a real character. There's a website for logging sightings: http://www.bradfordjesusman.co.uk.They stated yesterday that he hasn't died as they had sightings over the weekend, but he has been ill.
