Grass Cutting

the fixmystreet sie is good, ive posted a complaint to the council.im at war with glendale.still no email though from their website lol

If it's any consolation Bramley13 I haven't had a reply from the e-mail I sent to Glendale on Monday either! Not that I was holding my breath.I cut my own grass verges and those of my neighbour to avoid some of the mess,(lots of other people seem to be doing the same) it takes me about an hour each time.As this cuts down Glendale's workload maybe the council should consider paying them less and I would happily accept a reduction in my council tax for doing the work they should be doing.

I've noticed from chatting to a fair few people that a lot of them didn't know that Glendale were a seperate company from the Council! They had just assumed that the council were doing a worse job lately cutting the public grassed areas.Maybe that's why there has been so few complaints?

If its a file stored on your computer tick the add attachment box between the box you type a new message in and the preview/post/cancel buttons.When you click on post is should then open up a dialog which should allow you to browse your file structure for the file(s) you want to add. Should because it hasn't always being working properly, especially about a month ago.If its a picture from another website you need to include the url but its best to read help (link top left).

Step-by-step through the maze - not as bad as it seems, once you've worked it out wiggy wrote: trying again... no,can someone talk me through it...as though speaking to a small child? Click on that.Now you should have all your Directories listed, double-click on the one where your piccy is saved.Open the folder if it's in one, or do whatever you do to find the pic you want.When you've found it on the list, click once on the name, then click on 'open'.That should give you a preview page showing your pic and where it lives on your PC. If you're happy, click Next.The message should upload and the next page gives you the chance to resize, but that's another story!. If you are happy click Finish.Yet another new page giving you the chance to cancel it , say if you picked the wrong piccy (ahem!), or to post. If you're happy, click on continue.That should be it, but remember pictures don't always come on straight away, uncle duncan likes to check them first!Hope all that helps, once you've done it a couple of times, it gets easier - honest

Well to my surprise I had a visit from one of the managers from Glendale this morning in response to the e-mail I sent them.I think he was surprised aswell as I was still in my jim-jams,however rather than pass up the chance I went outside with him to point out the mess still in evidence from the last visit by the grasscutters a few weeks ago.He said there have been no complaints about their work either from the council or householders and that if the grass dosen't get cut in wet weather it is because the council tell them not to do it,which is strange as it seems to get cut when it's pouring down.After half an hour in the freezing cold the end result is that they are going to monitor the situation when the grass is next cut which will be the week after next (by which time it will be a foot long again)he will come and inspect the area.I will make sure I'm fully clothed next time!

Strange though, am I alone in thinking that anyone employing a contractor might just make a point of monitoring and inspecting their work to make sure they are actually getting what they asked for?

I have certainly been complaining to the council since April to no avail so obviously either the complaints don't get acted upon or it's a case of passing the buck back and forth.The chap from Glendale said their work IS inspected and found to be fine! I think someone needs to go to specsavers.
