Jusy a thought does any one check there work i dont mean when they first take on the job. If not why not another thing nothing to do with grass cutting but to do with the council checking work done when a new building site needs to connect to the services ie water ect the road is dug up. After say twelve months or so the trench that they dug as sunk this is often left for years. When it gets so bad that it is dangerous the road has to be resurfaced who foots the bill? Ps There are roads in Pudsey that have been dug up that many times they look like spiders webs.

Who are they trying to kid"Delivering green service excellence" I think not!I have had no joy ringing the council so far so I'm going to contact Glendale direct first thing Monday and ask what their definition of excellence is exactly and offer to send them some photos of their standard of work to use on their website that will give potential customers a better idea of what they can expect from Glendale and it's certainly not "Quality, value and innovation"     That is what your Councilors are for - if you don't think you're being listened to, badger them for help - they have a duty to ensure propriety on our behalf - and want our votes! Hi Chameleon What gets me is that the councilors see what we see they must know what is going on but nothing is done untill they get lots of complaints Dont they pay council tax as well? Being good friends with three local councilors I asked them about Glendale and the shoddy work and asked why they were allowed to continue. All THREE said they had NOT received one complaint thus far!!!! Maybe the councilors of various areas have had little or no complaints made to them. They will act if people complain. However, if no one voices concerns they don't know of the problem do they. Mind you, they have all said ( the three I know) that they have complained in chambers about the work.

Exactly my point simon - we all know how these contractors 'work' - people need to shout at the right people to be heard, and keep shouting until things improve!

I rang my councillor today and he wasn't available but got a call back from his assistant, she had made enquiries to Glendale and they said that the contract is to cut the grass approximately every two weeks reducing it to every 4/5 weeks when the grass dosen't grow as much!!It's not in their contract to collect grass clippings but the man with the blower ensures that any mess is blown back onto the verges!! yeh right!! Allegedly they are in my area again next week which is strange as they were here last monday and one of the managers is going to come and inspect the work..........and I shall be waiting for him!!! I also sent an e-mail to Glendale and have been on the fixmystreet website where you can report problems in your postcode area and a copy gets sent direct to the relevant department ie.roads, footpaths etc.The woman I spoke to also asked for any photos I have to be sent to her so I have been out with my camera and got some shots of the mess still left from last week.

Of course. They'll not even entertain silly comments like "their [edited for content]" Give them exact info about shoddy work practices and they WILL, if their any good, try to sort it.
