Hi LS1 You are right about the Leeds tiger i have been going to the Museum since the late fiftys and have always known it as such I do not recall seeing the tasmanian wolf untill just before the museum closed a few years ago i think it could have been in storage?I could be wrong i might have missed it.The tiger used to have a card telling you all about it being a man eater. They must think it would be in poor taste to tell you about that now no pun lntended. It used to be out just near the tiger when the museum was in the Libbrary (Municipal) buildings, just near the Dodo information, dont remember their being actual dodo remains in the old one tho.

Tut tut, dont they know half day opening is on Wednesday in Leeds!!On a more serious note the lack of opening on a Monday smacks of an agricultural museum in the backwaters of Italy, not a supposed 24 hour European City.Very short sighted indeed, just imagine booking a stay in Leeds and wanting to visit the newly opened museum on a Monday.Id go home and tell everyone that this provincial northern town is still living in the past.Seems like the council are trying to save money, but lose face. Will the arena (which i support by the way) be closed on a Monday??No,well get yer finger out and act like a Barcelona, not play at one!!

Inquirer wrote: I went to the museum the other day and the traditional huge Leeds tiger with its snarl which I remember is there downstairs OK, but unlabelled. The Tasmanian version is also there but with much more info telling you about its extinction and its stuffed rarity.Has anyone else spotted the mistake in Collectors' Cabinet area? Some old photos are on display, one of them labelled as being Bolton Priory (because that's what it says on the back). But it isn't -it's Adel Parish Church before the nave roof was heightened. Not yet been, but well done for spotting the error.Makes you wonder if those in charge actually know the difference between a priory and a church/chapel.Size is USUALLY a big give away, plus an acquaintance with the building concerned is a great boon.I wonder if the label of the Tasmanian Tiger and Bagpuss was also mixed up too. That would explain and pardon Steve Jones faux pas.Or was he just being a drunken judge again!!"Hang em high, hang em high!!!"quote- Steve Jones"Why was i born two centuries too late, when deportation to New South Wales was an option"quote-Steve Jones after a paper boy was found guilty of binning a load of advertising flyers for "Cash Converters" in a skip that had been weighing down his paper bag
