Actually i do like Pendle Witch <LOL>, sadly it is not as widely available in draught form as it used to be. i like their Black Cat Mild as well.I like Hook Norton "Old Hooky", Robinsons "Old Tom " (I think the references to Own Roger might have been confused with this superb 8% beer),fraioch Heather Ale, Sharps Doombar, St Peters Cream Stout , batemans victory Ale, Dark Lord,XXXB and Spring breeze.there are many more but these come to mind at present.it occurs to me that I might bring my 3 pint drinking horn along to the palace <LOL>!
Steve JonesI don't know everything, I just like to give that impression!

My top 5, although some are from memories long gone;1. Hand pulled Tetleys bitter - Still my favourite when in Leeds Bradford area ie not smooth, etc that you get in various pubs around the country/world (even Cyprus).2. Hand pulled John Smith's Bitter, say no more, except to say; the smooth is a good pint here in Cyprus but expensive.3. Black Sheep best bitter. When I'm back the UK every year for my beer fix, around N. Yorks and N Cumbria this is my fav.4. Timy Taylors Best Bitter. This is from memory. Its years since I had one.5=. Schneider Weiss Beer, preferably draught but bottled is also good, from Muenchen. NB Worked for a Bavarian company for a number of years. 5.= Czech Budwar on draught. Worked in Prague for a number of years. I've just had a few Keos tonight in Cyprus, they pale into insignificance compared with the above.

I've a plan too, to have a pint in the buffet at Leeds Station, catch a train to Batley and have another in the bar across the road from the station, then another in the West Riding Refreshment Rooms Dewsbury, another in the "Head of Steam" at Huddersfield, then across the Pennines and have one in the Stalybridge Station Buffet. Then catch a train back to Leeds and sleep it off enroute, but I doubt that I've got the stamina these days

Ok here goes,im going to take Si's option of 5 Draught and five bottle.Bare in mind that some of these choices are available in Leeds both bottled and draught,so choices in either would not be discounted in either a pub or off licence type store/supermarket,in other words id sup any of em.Midnight Bell has come right in there for me,its excellent, its a view many of my friends also share. Its a good job its not in bottles as my liver would take a real hammering.Draught:-1 = Landlord/Midnight Bell2 Speckled Hen3 = Riggwelter/OP4 Budvar(Chek Budweiser)5 Leeds Best/Imperial(Just outside is Camerons Ruby)Bottle1 Sam Smiths Old Brewery Pale Ale2 Duchy Originals Organic Select Ale3= Schneider Weiss/Sams Smiths Natural Brew Lager4 Marstons Old Empire5 Bombardier

It was Tykeboy's idea to do a draught and a bottled list, Chris. Yes, I'm a fan of Midnight Bell, too! As for bottled, I've always enjoyed a glass of Chimay, too, but be careful of the blue one - 9%!!! It's bottle fermented, so don't drink the dregs, unless you want to spend the following day on the bog! Landlord is lovely bottled, too, with a nice old-fashioned looking label.
