Yep, I remember Virgin being there too in the late 70s - so don't wail any more kierentc! :-)And I also remember Huggy Bears - I vaguely knew the manager, a bloke called John (Peacock?) who used to dress like Bryan Ferry and also frequent the Roxy/Bowie nights at one of the pubs in town - the Precinct, I think. If I remember rightly, he ended up driving LCT buses, still very flamboyantly dressed. And while we're on jeans shops, I had a Saturday job around 1978-79 in one called Untouchable (definitely the era of cheesy shop names!) on Duncan Street, a bit farther along from Rawcliffes towards the Corn Exchange - most definitely at the low-glamour end of the fashion spectrum!

I know John Peacock, he's married now living in London. He left the buses after getting hassle over his appearance. he then went back to art college, joined a band called OUT OF THE BLUE (They did quite well gigging round Yorkshire for about 4 years), he left Leeds in about 1990, to go to Liverpool Uni to study art. He got his degree and went to London in 94. He did go to the Bowie/Roxy nights at The Precinct and The Adelphi.

I will get in touch with my brother when he's back off holiday (about 2 weeks as he's only just gone) as he's in contact with John more than me. Here's my email as there's no PM thingy on here, I don't [email protected]

I heard he went to Liverpool ... if you have his contact details could you PM me? Is that a Burns guitar the chap on the right is holding, by any chance?
