I remember reading somewhere that Peter O'Toole knows all the words to the Hunslet RL anthem "We've swept the seas before boys" He was born in Connemara. But brought up in Leeds. I personally have only ever heard the song sung once (at Parkside) and that was over forty years ago.

They were Paul and Barry Sapherson then. I remember the day that their mum visited the school, you'd have thought that royalty was visiting with the way the teachers fussed. They left and moved on to Fulneck when I was about nine. They had a mixed singing career, they split as a duo in 1967; Paul moved into writing and producing, Barry carried on singing. The most famous number was 'Eloise' a monster production written by Paul and sung by Barry. Paul died of cancer in 1992. Barry has since made a name for himself as a photographer. they lived on easterly road, not far from my grans. I allus thought they lived on North Lane .....
