It looks like the yard were it was also gated off. The stables must have been further in the yard. There will have been a bit of alteration down there as well. There is a much newer building opposite.

Well yes I agree the back of this place is not suitable at all for the history involved. Apparently it's the owners of the original building had them removed & placed here when they moved in. It doesn't really seem right they should be moved to me. They were originally placed there for a reason. Said owners don't occupy the premises as far as we can tell these days!

come on then lets try and get this into the YEP and see if we can get owt done??im sure if we shout long and hard someone will listen eh??let's face it this has turned into a belting little thread, and it would be nice to see em moved back to there rightful place. ps/ the building there on now is only stretcher bond brick with block behind so the stone heads must only go back the length of a brick,so it wont be that hard to do.

Well this is a good point Brandy. I'm thinking the same thing. Who else thinks this should be the fitting thing to do and a nice little story for the S.L gang? I can have a few words in the right shell like for this one.

I think we'd all agree that their current location is totally unsuitable and inappropriate. The question is do we: a) lobby to get them back to their original location ?- if we can access/find it (- with a suitable plaque I would suggest. ) But whilst this might be satisfying the skulls would still be very inaccesible .or b) try to get the council involved to put them in a good accessible location on a public building in the city centre?
