there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

This Kirkstall Road feature has got me thinking about how one's memory can play tricks. I always thought that the "alphabet streets" started with "A" for Abbey Street at the inner end of Kirkstall Road and continued to "W" for Willow Road which is, of course, still there but totally altered near the railway viaduct. I must be wrong because had that been the case, as you looked at the pub and Durham Street, Fartham Street would have been two streets to the left away from the city. I wonder if I have the wrong idea altogether, and were the "alphabet" streets perhaps other thoroughfares in the vicinity of the famous "middle row" which was roughly behind where YTV and the other modern buildings are now ?? I would appreciate clarification of this please if anyone can help.

Hello Si - many thanks indeed for the prompt reply and for the trouble in printing them out. I am quite surprised that I could have been under such a mistaken impression all these years as I used to know the roads so well - even though I lived in Ilkley and Burley - in - W then I travelled Kirkstall Road frequently right from being a child. Many thanks again.
