Thanks, I went to St Mary's up to 1983, so I have an interest in it too.

Deffo,i was beginning to wonder if the person with the statues was the same guy who bought the church and then sold off all its contents.Could do with trying to contacr mr Gavan and see if you can get some snaps.

Well I've contacted the Leeds Irish community (2003 e-mail address) & Mount st Marys school so far. Bugger all response up to now Any ideas folks?

Phill, I'm sure I've seen a news item featuring a piccy of Mr Gavan with the stsues, it my have been a YEP archive item; shot in the dark, I wonder if the church schools may have some contact information? Given the close association it seems not impossible.
