I can't get into this site either. At best I can get the home page but no further. I've tried both Firefox and IE. As there are two of us struggling to access it, it seems as though they have some problems.

This is a good thread. It looks like they've sorted that site out now, it works OK.I've done a fair bit of research into my family history as an enthusiastic amateur so I'll be happy to weigh in with whatever advice I can offer. My father's side came to Leeds in the 1830s from Melmerby near Ripon and settled in Little London. They spread through Hunslet, Woodhouse and Buslingthorpe over that century. Some advice I can give straight away:Make a note of everything you do, especially the unsuccessful searches. You don't want to spend all day sweating over a hot microfilm machine at the library only to repeat the exercise a year later because you didn't note that you'd already looked at those records.Don't be shy.If you use the genealogy websites, Ancestry.co.uk, the Mormons etc., use the bulletin boards. You may well find someone who is looking into another branch of your family who can give you useful information. I did, I have a website and someone Googled the name of a relative, found my website and got in touch. Turns out we share a Great-great-granddad. Good old Iris, she's done tons more than I have and all the way from Worcester!I'll keep an eye on this thread, if you have any queries, I'll be happy to help if I can.
