If you don't like being stared at you make yourself a hell of a lot less conspicuous than that character does Agree 'Tyke bhoy'....must have grown up with a lonely life some of these bods, not mixing, no mates....dont have chips on their shoulders, just half of Hepping Forest... So they have to make some kind of statement...usually say " what you f*****g looking at"....happened to me a couple of times over the years, my answer was "what makes you think that your so f*****g important, that I have to waste my time looking at you"....one time I just stuck the nut on a guy and gave him smack in the mouth, and that finished that episode...stay well, have a happy day.Frank

I drove past the still closed Shaftesbury on York Road today. It's now "For Sale" with all the windows steel shuttered, but some theiving scrote has had all the lead flashings and a good number of tiles off the roof.Given the current weather, combined with the fire there a month or two ago, I can only imagine it's days are now quickly running out.

There are only 10 types of people in the world -those who understand binary, and those that don't.

So you have - good pics. It looks even worse out the back than from the front. I wonder if there are plans afoot for some trendy apartments should it mysteriously catch fire again..?

Here's a pic - this building had a fine history - parts dated back to 1692. it was a coaching inn known as 'the New King's Arm's' until 1834 then the Royal - the bars were accessed via the entrance to the coutyard - shops faced onto Briggate (pics and info from Leodis)

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

And here's a pic I took a few weeks ago. Don't be fooled though - as with the Pack Horse further up Briggate things are not quite what they seem. The original building was completely demolished in the 1970s and the current building has since been remodelled (using fibreglass in places) to mimic the original.
