Wasn't there at one time a Rugby League Hall of Fame in a pub in Rothwell in the very early 1980s?

It was just up from the Leisure Centre on Aberford Road before you got to Royds School on t'opposite side of t'road. Also handy for the "Newmarket " junction of the M62.

It wasn't much of an "experience" there was the "hall of fame" pictures of the various members, there was RL memorabilia - the Yorkshire Cup, the Lancashire Cup, the Yorkshire and Lancashire League trophies - various caps- it didn't last long either. I wonder where the exhibits are now? Surely they should be with the rest at the "George" exhibition in Huddersfield. Alternatively a proper hall of fame should be established at Red Hall,

Between 61-63 Leeds had the best RL fullback the world has ever seen, a good mate of my Old Mans-- Ken Thornett.On returning to Oz he signed up with Parramatta and played four more seasons with them. On his retirement the Club honoured him by naming their main stand after him.Why can't Leeds do something similar for their great players ?SteviefIn Ken's book " Tackling Rugby" which my Dad illustrated, he rates Lewis Jones as the best player he ever played with and helped him get a coaching job with Wentworthville when he came to NSW.L Jones always stood out in a match, not only was he a freaky player but he was the only guy on the paddock with a shiny bald head.Go the Eels !
