Hi Mike, yes you are right the building on the left was as you say, the science block, the building which I mentioned is the one next to it, next to the small garden in the recess. Other teachers I remember in that part were Mr Howarth (french, funny, nice man), Mr Blanch (spanish,well liked by all RIP) and Mr Donavan (english,scruffy and nasty).I went there from 79 to 82, Mr Brockwell was also my tutor (3T60) at a guess I would say you were in the 'H' band which were above me in the brains department. I dont know your name but I hope you are doing well fella down under.

All my 3 schools are gone ... Low Road Primary, Coldcotes, and Foxwood. Can't find any pics of the first 2, even on Leodis.

Which school was it that got blown over a few years back, comprehensively demolished by a bit of a breeze ?Somewhere up on St Wifreds circle?

I went to Cardinal Heenan in 78, the first year that it changed from John Borstal and Tommy Akkers. Two of my [much] older brothers had attended Tommy Akkers [who’s saint’s day was last week]. Quite a few of the teachers that were there in my time had been there since the place was built. Mr McCormack had originally taught Latin, Mr Crossen had taught chemistry and Fr Creasy had been the padre. He also did my Dad’s funeral a couple of years ago. He hadn’t changed a bit!I bumped into Ted Donovan in the New Penny, which confirmed a few suspicions. He hadn’t changed a bit, even down to not being washed. Mr Gibbonds who taught me English [and failed] had been a pupil at Tommy Akkers with one of my brothers. He’s now the Deputy Head. Oh I know who you mean! He was a bit older than me and I can't remember his sisters name but I do remember they were both a bit older. Their mum was also a teacher at my primary school... and then.. there's more stuff a bit of gossip
