500 000 litres I believe! Maybe there was a reason for letting it out slowly after all, sort of had a vission of a large plug in the deep bit and the River Aire rising a foot or two. Could this simply have been the diving area being pumped out I wonder?

I know this might be putting the cat amongst the pigeons, but over the past couple of years i have come to appreciate this controversial building more and more. Its as unique as the Town Hall, the Civic Hall and the Corn exchange.Like it or love it,it stands out, and dare i say it ,is now quite attractive, and is certainly unique in the whole country. What was the atmosphere like phill? I was always confused about the no "petting bit" on the poolside signs when i was a kid, what the hell would someone be doing bringing their dog or cat for a swim?Does any one remember the changing rooms and how there were originally no lockers, just a big frame to place your belongings in and the give to,what i suppose you would describe,a cloak room attendant who then hung it upon a big rail.
