Demolition of some buildings on Merrion Street, Leeds.
Demolition was going on of some long disused buildings on Merrion Street, Leeds, when I took the 3 attached photos on December 5 2022. If the work had already started it was not so advanced that I noticed when I was in the area on November 25 2022. The second photo (and partly in the third) shows the unaffected The Wrens hotel with buildings opposite on New Briggate.

Interesting to see these photos Leodian, are student flats going to be built on this site? ! Debenhams is going to be converted to student flats also House of Fraser is getting demolished once it’s lease expires and the ground floor will be a store with student flats above it

Thanks uncle mick for that link. So it's to be "a development of 88 high-specification studio apartments with associated amenities" for students, so no surprise there then!uncle mick wrote: ↑Thu 08 Dec, 2022 10:50 amFrom the Yorkshire Post

Hi uncle mick ! Thank you for the link you posted! Yes Leodian I just wonder how many more buildings are going to be converted or built from scratch and become student flats? Seems that this is all that is going to happen in the city centre !
