I've had a look on Leodis but can only find one picture. Thanks for your help. S I'd be interested if you find any photos of it. My great grandfather used to work there in the 20s & 30s. Hi OldLeedsmanMy dad worked for the company (in the engineering part) in the 60's/70's, so that is why I am interested. He did tell me a few tales about it at the weekend but would like to find out more. I wonder if I start a new thread on the company we might get more info. It might get missed here. **now posted thread under buildings & structures

Hi slwMy g-grandfather was a dispenser there. My mother used to meet him from work as a child - I'll have to ask her if she has any stories to tell but she was only small. Not sure how much interest there might be in R&B - were they a big employer? No harm in creating a new thread though. You could always give it a generic title like 'old Leeds firms'.

I had never really given much interest to the city's history/secrets before but it now has me hooked (particulary reading the article on the town hall)! As I'm a total beginner I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction with regards to some good books to begin with?I would also be interested in any information people have about the history of East End Park (the Park/Grounds in particular) as before moving to roundhay 6 months ago I spent all my life living there without giving it a second though! Once again I have had great fun reading the topics posted on here and hope to be able to contribute (or at least ask some annoying questions) in the furture. Some posters must put in a lot of time and effort, obviously fuelled by a great love for the city, to uncover this information so thank you and keep up the good work!!lister there was a great boating lake in the park once...i did my APPRENTICIEPT in the park...(went to x green)
i do believe, induced by potent circumstances, that thou art' mine enemy?

Found a copy at Amazon - priced at a little under thirty-eight pounds ! Gosh, that's more than doubled in price since the first edition was published in '94! There were two other books published around that time to form a 'triology' of soughts, 'Images of Leeds' by Peter Brears and 'Leeds Described - eyewitness accounts of Leeds', again compiled by Peter Brears with Ann Heap. Worthy additions to anyone's collection.
