Fox and grapes yard in Leeds

Hi I am trying to find information about fox and grapes yard in Leeds I know off a relative who was born at number 13 fox and grapes yard in 1929 i would be greatful for any thing anyone can tell me about it or off anyone who may know anyone who knows about it was it a pub or lodge .

Looking at the 1911 census 13 Fox & Grapes Yard was a 4 roomed house. 12 Fox & Grapes Yard is the lodging house, 32 single people living in 10 rooms (the good old days ??)

Looking at the 1908 Directory 12,13 & 14 were listed as a lodging house so it's all a bit ambiguous.

Do you mean "Knocking Shops"? There were loads of lodging houses back then,im pretty sure that any houses of ill repute would not have had any visiting men putting their names,ages,marital status and place of birth to a brothel.and im sure the proprietor would not have wanted to do so either.By this time (1911) most people could read and write or at least have someone in the household who could.The censors did not enter the houses to check,they merely collected completed census forms,with the occasional helping out where a household had no one to write.

Was not a knocking shop as far as I know I going back to 1929 children lived there family called Taylor I f anyone knows off them I would like to here about it one off the children was born in that house in August 1929 . The father was George Taylor and mother Hannah Taylor is a bit off a mystery .
