I felt sure there already was a thread about the building work going on near Belgrave Street and just off Cross Belgrave Street but if there is I cannot find it.
The building I understand is to be a multi-storey student accommodation. Some preparatory work has been going on a for a while but recently there has been some building work that I think may be for a lift shaft. That work is going on quickly (much faster than I would have thought) as can be seen when comparing these 3 photos that I recently took across the Inner Ring Road with the first being on October 26, the second on October 31 and the third on November 10.

A rainbow is a ribbon that Nature puts on when she washes her hair.
Probably being built with self raising formwork. The former that the concrete is poured into gradually rises up the previously poured section. Sometimes it is jacked up, sometimes lifted by crane. Here the only crane looks to be the concrete pourer, so the formwork is possibly crawling up the core under its own steam.
Bearing in mind the rather unfortunate history of multi-storey accommodation in Leeds, do they now include anything at the construction stage to facilitate demolition in a few years time when, once again, they discover it was all a big mistake?

Its very close proximity to the slip road to the Inner Ring Road and that itself would not seem to be a particularly good place but I guess it will be very handy for the students to reach the socialising places in the centre of Leeds and have no worry about getting transport home!

I thought the students were the big mistake!!

These are 2 photos that I took of the site on November 23 2017. The further increase in height is obvious since the photo I took on November 10 2017 but it seemed to me that the cranes may no longer reach to beyond the top so perhaps this might be as high as the building will go.

I'm guessing the two columns of offset gaps in the tower are to accommodate the staircase with two sets of stairs per floor taking you to the other column and back again. I believe I can count 18 gaps on the right and according to this LCC submission "St Albans Place" will be 18 storey http://democracy.leeds.gov.uk/documents ... %20Lee.pdf so yes Leodian I think the Central Core is pretty much as high as it will go.
