Liz Green was at her very worst this morning during a feature on the future of A & E in Huddersfield/Halifax. One of the leading doctors involved in the planning of this issue was "on trial." He was a very calm and coherent well spoken chap who did his best to complete a sentence, or even a syllable, without being verbally slaughtered and interrupted. All credit to the chap he calmly held his ground and with difficulty managed to get his information across eventually. The only person I can recall recently to stand his ground and refuse to be "shut up" was Greg Mulholland. "The woman really has missed her way and would be more suited to the role of an angry Crown Court judge, mercilessly verbally chopping down witnesses and counsel and the accused. Also, in fairness, she was originally a very well spoken lady - until she decided to be a "trendy teenager" with all the slang that goes with that image - "Yayyy" and "'am like" etc etc.
More than once when she was interviewing an official in charge of the necessary M62 road works - with of course hundreds of cones - she threw out all his reasonable explanations about the difficulties of the massive project and implied that there was never anyone working on it.
One thing is for sure - if I was an important person or official of any kind I should refuse outright to feature on the programme simply to be verbally savaged and abused !!
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.
