I was trying to have a look around the internet today to see if I could get a copy of the Queenies Castle series on DVD or dare I say Video, but there seems to be nothing about at all. Had a look on Youtube and there are the opening credits of one of the episodes. If you just type in "Queenie's Castle" you will find it.I have attached a screen capture from part of this, and I think it shows the old Milgarth Police Station inthe bottom right, and then the bus station. I think this is what it shows, but if anyone can tell me otherwise....

No they don't Brandy.. It's hard to think it was only 30yars ago.. I love that old Steptoe way of life we seemed to have in those days.. make do & mend & not the throw away attitude of today.Hey Brandy it's hard to see were that clip is taken from.. It looks to be from the open air market but it just doesn't look familiar from that shot. It doesn't look how i remember it does it you?

Id say it was filmed from the top of the flats themselves. The bottom right of the picture is where the corner of the current police station that face the playhouse now.The buildings in the lower centre are the public toilets for the Bus station, there was also a news agents and i think a cafe of some sort. You can just see to the immediate left one of the bus stations long covered stops, and attached to the back of the toilets, the long building going slighty towards the top left of the picture,is the part of the outside market that was covered,i think it was the veg market, not sure, but i rememmber the outside wall of this building that faced onto the outside market definitely had veg stalls running along its lengthJust behind the toilets/newsagnets you can see the stalls of the outside market, and immediately behind these are the black triangular ended roof buildings of the part of the covered market that burnt down in 75,and in the distance just behind and to the left you can see the dome of the Corn exchange and the domes of Edwardian Hall of the market.

I think we might be looking at different clips csnosi... The one Brandy means is looking back at the flats from the bus station, it's 49 seconds into the clip.... I'll try grab the screen shot somehow & post it on here..

Looking at the screen capture above, old Milgarth wasn't that far down! you can still see where it was, cos part of it is at the back of the modern one, part of the car park nowadays, parts of the walls are still standing.I do remember those toilet blocks, big round urinals, glass tiled walls. Very very art deco!!
