From one of my contacts seeking info. on a possible LEEDS business.


"I am trying to track down any information relating to a defunct radio and TV rentals place that used to trade in Leeds, called House and Sons. Nothing shows up on the interweb, and a search of the trade and phone directories in the Leeds local research library also drew a blank. Does anyone have any information please?

House & Son (Electric) Ltd had company registration no 00934084. It was incorporated on 19/06/1968 and dissolved on 13/09/2007. The final registered address was c/o DAVID HORNER & CO, 11 CLIFTON MOOR BUSINESS VILLAGE, JAMES NICHOLSON LINK, YORK, YO30 4XG, which looks like the insolvency practitioners who wound up the company. Because it was a limited company there are quite a lot of records available (usually for a fee) that will include directors and any assets like properties. I'd start with the Companies House Webcheck service at http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk//wcfr ... ompanyInfo and searching for the registration number under dissolved companies. That should identify a person or property to start looking for.

Absolutely everything I have seen suggests that 3 House companies were based in York without buying documentation. However John House did have a Woodhouse address off Belle Vue Road. http://www.ccdni.com/director-john-stafford-house . All other directors had York(ish) addresses.
