You have my sympathy raveydavey driving in Leeds. I use buses and am glad I don't drive seeing the large number of pedestrians that just cross without either bothering to check it is safe or, quite often, seemingly not bothered and just give 2 finger salute to the driver and/or a stream of expletives when the driver has just reacted and saved their life!

Hoping not to bore with another TDF related photo. In the post of mine on 19 May 2014 I mentioned that some yellow bicycles had appeared in parts of Scott Hall Road and that it seemed likely they were related to the TDF event. More bicycles have been placed recentlyish at some of the sites and this photo (taken today, June 27 2014) show the 4 at the roundabout where Scott Hall Road meets King Lane. Such a tight small roundabout may cause some problems during the race, though the cyclists may not be in full racing mode at that still early point.Edit added July 10 2014. See my post on 10-Jul-2014 20:02:36 for an updated photo showing 3 of the cycles have been put into a nice use as flower-holders (the white cycle has gone).

I thought I would note that 'The Green Route' covers Leeds to Garforth, 'The Polka Dot Route' covers Leeds to Middleton and 'The White Route' covers Calverley to Woodlesford. As seen in my earlier photo, 'The Yellow Route' covers Leeds to Harrogate via the Yorkshire Dales.

Briefly, and not to put a damper on this subject, I recently suffered one of the worst experiences of atrocious illegal "Headingley" cycling while in my car in North Lane (I too am a cyclist and motorcyclist so not unfairly biased). Just before Cardigan Road a huge middle aged guy rode off the pavement almost under my bumper, straight through the red lights at CR and, outside the Stadium, straight through the Pelican crossing at red at lunatic high speed VERY nearly skittling an elderly handicapped lady who was crossing correctly on the green man.Further along, this callous idiot hurtled onto the pavement before the red lights at Queenswood Drive and shot, still on the footpath, at high speed round the corner into St. Anne's Lane - a corner where there is no view whatever around the corner - Abominable behaviour and sadly very widespread indeed.
