I've recently moved to Leeds and was wondering where i can find a community forum or CAB in the Burley/Headingly area. Google search has brought nothing up but when i lived in Sheffield there was one close that wasn't advertized beyond the local area, so i was wondering maybe there is something like that around here?Peace!

Hi there - welcome to Leeds (and SecretLeeds.com)!Not quite sure what you mean by community forum but you might find out more at http://www.headingley.org/ or at the Heart Centre (http://www.heartcentre.org.uk/), which is run by these guys: http://www.headingleydevelopmenttrust.org.uk/.Not so much I can think of in Burley along those lines but there is Burley Loge Centre/Better Leeds Communities: http://www.burleylodge.org.uk/
Contact me via ask@tyrell.mobi if you have any questions or comments about the site.

There is a large range of community centres in LS6 if thats what you're looking for. The already mentioned 'Heart' in Headingley, the Burley Lodge Centre, Woodsley Road Community Centre, The Cardigan Centre on Cardigan Road, there is also the Left Bank pretty much adjacent to the Cardigan Centre which is an arty thing I think. Then there is all kinds of things to do with Hyde Park Unity Day, Wrangthorn Church Hall have all sorts of community events. There are things on at South Parade Baptist Church too. Probably the largest amount of community activities for any area of Leeds.

Another good place for community activities/advice although closer to the city centre is The Swarthmore centre in Woodhouse square.it is run by a committee formed from various groups and offers numerous courses as well as being available for hire for all sorts of events (Including the conferences put on by yours truly last year and this).
Steve JonesI don't know everything, I just like to give that impression!

Good luck with your search. (Don't try to contact a Medium in Leeds as they seem to be thin on the ground.

There is a Burley/Kirkstall closed group on FB. Maybe they can help you?
