Cheers Tay. I got that one already. There's one just around the corner but it's badly faded.
Photo editing sometimes brings them back to life. But that ones had it!!!!

Down near the Mabgate. Opposite the Cherry Tree. Have you ever thought about a 'guess where Leeds'? They do it on flickr...

How did I know you would be the first to answer, Phil?We were talking about doing a comp like that the other day! Do you remember the ones on kid's TV that they used to do where it would be a close up of a 'normal household object' (which almost invariably turned out to be a table fork)?

Sorry Munki. I've put a self imposed ban on myself on Flickr. My days were from the swap shop & tiswas era so i can't remember the fork game. Although ask one of your older mates about tiswas & Sally james! i'll go no further

Nuff said then. Was the guess where to be guessed as a quiz or did you need to know in reality?

Re: The 'Crown' sign alongside the Corn Exchange.I'm not sure about the decorators shop...but it certainly used to be the 'Crown Fisheries' a fish and chip shop.I believe its decendant is still trading from different premisis somewhere near there. Also the heel bar next to the bus stops used to be 'Hayes Fish Bar' where you could buy fresh fish and ,my dads favorite, fresh crab. The signs on the gable end above, now painted over by the large mural, and round the corner facing Kirkgate, were advertising Tetleys Ales. The latter had a red neon outline to the lettering.
