I pop onto the YEP website now and then. Occasionally a 'pop up' it asks me if I want to give an opinion. Should I really tell them what I think?

There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

It's much further from Leeds to Harrogate than I thought! In a report on page 11 of the YEP today (June 17 2014) it states the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry are to attend the Tour De France Grand Depart. According to the YEP "Sports fans William, Kate and Harry will see the 22 cycling squads on Saturday, July 5, during the first leg of the 2,272-mile route from Leeds to Harrogate".OK it may be obvious that the 2,272 miles means the full race distance, but the wording would seem to indicate otherwise!

Wouldnt you think that they would be honest with themselves and rename the paper "Yesterdays Evening Post" seeing as when they print it in the early hours of the day it is published then all their "news" is from the previous day.

Further proof that either their quality of journalism is decending even further is that yesterday they described Brimham Rocks as being near Knaresborough. They could of course be referring to Plumpton Rocks which would be in the right area.Is it they are using reporters with no local knowledge at all, or who can't read a map? Last time I was up that way it was rather nearer to Pateley Bridge (or Harrogate) than Knaresborough.

I refuse to buy it, not only is the news not newsworthy but i think they tried, in their own way, to cover up the saville scandal. In my opinion the sooner the YEP goes belly up the better...
