The old-maps.co.uk has changed. It seems impossible to find anything worth showing without payment. I know it's a commercial enterprise but what a shame

It happened since last night, as i was using it then.
I was afraid that might happen. When old maps first came out you could get everything online for nothing. then they limited the magnification which wasn't too bad but limited the detail you could read. Now all you get is a very wide, low magnification view in rhe hope you will subscribe or buy one of their rather overpriced hard copy maps/ I already have a subscription as often need to see the fine detail , but for those that only occasionally use the site it must be very annoying. It should be noted by everyone though that many of the c1880-1820 maps six inch maps are free at any magnification from http://maps.nls.uk/os/6inch-england-and ... index.html

EDIT - I don't mind subscribing but I think £9.99 a month is way over the top

Free map - good home wanted.

Hello everyone, new name MiggyBill, old name BillyBritvic. For some reason could not sign in using my original monicker so have had to create a new email and a new username.
